Hi There Sweet Pea!
In the past few months, I've been privileged enough to have been mentioned by a few bloggers in their posts. I can't even begin to say how grateful I am that they have done this; in the blogging world we are (on the whole) all trying so hard to improve on our own blogs, that sometimes we forget to say thankyou to those who've given up a leg up on the way. After all, what did they get out of it?
To me, it's a sign of someone being truly selfless, and let's be honest, as women, we don't tend to have that reputation do we! This community could be so bitchy and backstabby, but it's not. We all meet, and write about shared interests, we're kind to each other (with the exception of one or two trollops who feel the need to spread negativity) and we encourage each other to keep at it.
The blogs that I love, and the girls that I gravitate towards naturally might not be the biggest bloggers out there, but I'm drawn to them because of their personality and their kindndess. The genuine and personal comments they leave on my blog, and the clear effort that they put into each and every post.
To me, that's more important than how many followers they have, or whether they're one of the 'biggest' bloggers - who says that just because they've got 20,000 followers they're the best around here? I've seen blogs with 100 followers that are just as good, if not better - they're just waiting to be discovered.
So where is this all leading? Well, what I'm going to do, is every now and then, pop up a post recognising each of the people who have mentioned me in one of their posts, and also once in a while give someone a leg up who I think really deserves more followers than they have, by featuring them in a post on my blog.
We're all here for the same reason, so I don't see any reason why I can't help some of you out, even in a small way. If you've mentioned me in a post and you think I haven't realised, let me know in the comments. Also, if you have a blog, leave me a link to it - I'd love to check it out.

With all that being said, I want to kick this off with sharing someone with you today; Line from Picture Noergaard.
She has mentioned me a few times now, with the most recent one coming from her post of the 'Can You Admit Your Weaknesses' TAG of mine.
She's a student from Denmark, who does part time modelling and acting when she's not studying. Her blog is a great mix of personal posts, fashion, accessories and makeup, and every now and then she posts backstage photos from her modelling jobs, which are really interesting.
You can find her over at:

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I'll probably be back later with a more personal post so keep your eyes peeled!

Here here! LOL. I get what you mean completely & I am a fairly new blogger but I often feel the more established bloggers tend to speak amoung themselves during BBloggers chat & don't tweet back...however I have spoke to a few lovely bloogers whom don't let the amount of followers they have goto their head.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Most of the big bloggers completely ignore anyone who hasn't made it to their PR soirees. It's not very nice in my opinion. But alas! I'm a one woman battle haha x
DeleteSure, why not? x
ReplyDeleteOMG I could not agree more, we have a really bitchy selfish reputation and I have met so many good people that I think it is a great opportunity!
ReplyDeleteCould you please consider following each other? www.shineonbyandrea.blogspot.com
I really think so too! Sure why not? :) x
Deletehello
ReplyDeleteI think the same.

I completely agree with what Nikkole said, I've been blogging around 6 months and have really noticed that the more popular bloggers don't tend to reply to those that aren't as well known which is such a shame and pretty disappointing. I know if I ever got that many followers, I'd still reply to all the genuine comments.
ReplyDeletemy blog is xtiffyxx.blogspot.co.uk if you fancy a look :) x
I completely agree too. Have you ever noticed on Instagram for example, that someone might leave a genuine and lovely comment, and it will be completely ignored. Whereas one of their big blogger friends leaves a small comment and the reply is instantaneous. If you look at who they've replied to throughout all the comments, maybe out of hundreds of them, 9 times out of 10 it'll only be to other big bloggers. I just think it's awful of them! x
DeleteYeah, we sometimes forgot about great people who mentioned us, it's sad, but true..
ReplyDeleteI'm you follower now, hope you can follow me back :)

Thankyou very much, it is sad, which is why I'm really going to try and do something about it! x
DeleteI came to your blog to thank you for the nice comment you left on my post yesterday and really enjoyed reading your posts - I am now a new follower. Thank you again !

Oh thankyou very much! I'm so glad you like them :D x
Deletethe blogging community is pretty awesome - i've not had a bad experience from it AND i've met some v.nice people off the back of it! I do love it when people do featured blogger posts, they're a great way to discover more individuals - fab idea!x
ReplyDeleteI think so too, other than a little mild homophobia which really is nothing to me, I've had a completely pleasant experience. I really hope I can make a difference, even a tiny one! x
DeleteCompletely agree with you! I have only been blogging for a couple of months but have been overwhelmed at how supportive other bloggers have been. I think your blog is great! Well said!

Thankyou so much, that really means a lot <3 :) x
DeleteThis is such a lovely idea! Thanks for your comment on my blog page too, I love reading your blog :) xx
ReplyDeletep.s check out my Christmas giveaway
Aww thanks hun! :) x
DeleteI completely agree. Most of my favourite blogs are ones that don't have 1000's of followers. I feel I connect with these people better and you can form a friendship. I think this is such a lovely idea that you are doing featuring bloggers and giving them recognition. xx
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with you, actual friendships can be formed, rather than arse kissing! (pardon my french!) x
DeleteI have no idea what those so called big bloggers are doing or saying since I don't read their blogs. it's totally pointless to get dressed, take photos for your blog and then actually wear something else, something regular. I find it fake and those people aren't interesting in my eyes. so I definitely share your opinion about that theme.
ReplyDeleteMaiken,
Maikeni blogi – part of me
You're right. And frankly the transformation in some of them between vlogs and and actual posts/videos is shocking. It's so deceiving that anyone can be that perfect. x
Deleteso true! x
DeleteWhat a lovely idea, i'm all for this! As a relatively new blogger i have found that at times not being an established blogger can be quite lonely but its great to come across fellow bloggers who support each other :)

I know how you feel. I feel like nomatter what happens with this little old blog of mine, I don't want to ever forget how happy I was when I got my first follower. x
DeleteOh my gosh! I'm so flattered you mentioned me, I can't believe it. I'm literally jumping all over my room right now. Thank you so much, this was so lovely. And I agree with you, sometimes I feel the smaller blogs are so much more interesting than the bigger blogs as they seem more relatable. Lots of love is send your way! xxx

Aww bless you hun, it's only fair! You've mentioned me a million times :D! x
DeleteThis is a great idea - I've found that the bigger bloggers tend to ignore the little ones too - when they were once little themselves. I prefer the smaller, more personal blogs; and yours is one of my favourites.
