Where to start, where to start?

Hello Darlings,

It's been over two months since my last post and what a whirlwind it has been. As some of you may know, I study Law at Leeds Uni, and this was my third and final year. This of course meant the dreaded dissertation, and also finals. Eugh.
My dissertation deadline came up so quickly, it all seemed to culminate in a frantic scramble to get it finished; cue plenty of allnighters. This was closely followed with my exam period and I can honestly say it almost finished me off. In one particular week I had around 20 hours sleep in a 5 day period, safe to say I was exhausted.
However, I am now absolutely overjoyed to say that... IT'S OVER! It's no secret that I wasn't a fan of my degree, it was what my family wanted, and I'm so relieved to never have to sit a pointless exam ever again. Honestly, one of my final year compulsory topics was Jurisprudence, which is a study of the theory behind law. This included a study into how literature portrays the law, and in one particular area, this meant a study of Harry Potter (the Ministry of Magic) blah blah blah. Before you all think I'm off studying the trial of the Hippogryph Buckbeak, I can assure you my other topics included family law and equity and trusts - not nearly as exciting. However, at least I'm now particularly clued up as to how to deal with my will; every cloud and all that.

Moving on from the genuine excitement of my law degree which has undoubtedly got you on the very edge of your seats, I alas, do not have much else to report. I have plenty of blogging ideas whirling around in my head and am also considering a little blog makeover, but we shall see. It won't be anything too drastic if I do. Christ on a bike it took me long enough to tinker about to get this one looking semi decent.

I'm looking forward to getting back to my hobby again, and shunning my textbooks, (Herring - Family Law, I'm looking at you buddy). Thanks for once again sticking by me, and I can't wait to see what you guys have been up to while I've been a hermit in a corner of my bedroom, slowly getting more and more pasty.

Abiento!

Hey I'm back, with the 25 Facts About Me TAG!

Hey there stranger,

Now don't think that I'm doing that highly irritating thing where bloggers disappear and then reappear without bothering to explain why.The truth is, I don't have any sort of huge reason at all. I just lost my blogging mojo and to be honest, talking about my life when things were so unstable felt fake. Likewise, talking about beauty products somewhat lost it's appeal when everything around me was changing, it all seemed quite irrelevant and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. So, I took a step back. I can't give my all to my blog if I don't feel secure in myself, and at the end of the day, this is a hobby, I should enjoy it. Now things are settling down though, and certain people in my life have been encouraging me to start up again, at one point I was considering shutting down but I'm so glad I didn't now.
So in a nutshell, I'm sorry I've been absent, hi to those of you who have followed me in the meantime, and thankyou to those of you who have stuck by me! I'm so looking forward to reconnecting with all of you <3

So! To get back into the swing of things, I thought why not do the 25 facts about me TAG? Since a lot has changed with me in the past few months, and believe me, it's been a lot (I fear some of you may fall off your chair when you hear one particular snippet of news that I have for you!) I thought why not?

--------------------

1. I'm a matter of months away from graduating from the University of Leeds with a Law degree. I have to be honest, and tell you all that I cannot wait for that day. Law was never my choice (it was my parents'), and I can't wait to be out of this and doing something that I enjoy.

2. I have a new job! I started a couple of weeks ago now, and I'm back in the world of Frozen Yogurt. I now work on Tuesday evenings as well as odd shifts, up at Moo in Headingley, Leeds. If you're near me, come have some yogurt and say hi!

3. My closest friend and I just made the decision to move in together next year once we graduate. I'm so excited and I couldn't be happier that we finally got round to this!! <3

4. I am an obsessive cleaner, if my house is a mess I freak out!

5. I would love to own a Corvette Stingray, and MGB or a Triumph Spitfire one day. Classic cars have soul <3

6. I hate gin. I think it tastes of herbs.

7. I have an obsession with owls and always have done since I was little. Some have said that this is because I share certain characteristics with them, but I won't divulge into that as quite frankly it was rather derogatory!

8. YSL Opium is my favourite perfume, the smell always reminds me of good memories <3

9. I have an aversion to ironing. I hate it, genuinely hate it. If you'd like to come and do it for me, I will love you forever!

10. I'm going to Vegas to celebrate my 21st this summer (excited!).

11. When I was little I couldn't say 'hot air balloon' so I used to call them 'dig boons' (big balloons). To this day if my family see one they shout this at me. Baffling.

12. One of my favourite things is how the sea looks at night (preferably when it's not freezing outside). I find it kind of eery in a beautiful way.

13. I am obsessed with yogurt. To the degree that rich women are obsessed with Chanel. I need help.

14. My time keeping is horrendous if I don't absolutely have to be there on time. It's better to arrive late than to arrive bedraggled!

15. I'm terrified of Zombies but I watch The Walking Dead religiously. (Is it just me or are the zombies getting slower as the seasons go by, they used to run and now they just kind of hobble. Not that I'm complaining, I'd like to think I could take out one of those types.)

16. I quite fancy a lollipop peacock. Completely pointless but entirely worthwhile!

17. I have recently started seeing someone.

18. Just lately I have had to come to terms with something pretty big, and it made me question who I was again. But, with the help of this image, I think I'm sorted now.

19. I don't like sleeping in a house on my own, it makes me feel claustrophobic.

20. I am notoriously bad at keeping plants alive. My friends have taken bets on how long it will take me to kill the new plant on the landing.

21. Skittles milkshakes blow my mind, seriously, you have to try one.

22. It's just past 10am and I'm craving Thai food. If you happen to be in Leeds and you want good thai food that isn't expensive, go to Jino's in Headingley, it's really good.

23. My hair hasn't made it past collar bone length in almost 5 years now. It grows at about a rate of half an inch per year.

24. Rachel Weiss is my biggest celebrity crush. I think I would probably sell a kidney to be with her.

25. One day I would like to take a year out and travel up through South America, all the way to Canada, stopping at all the places I've ever wanted to visit on the way. Perhaps in the next couple of years I'll get to realise that dream.

----------------------------

I really didn't realise just how hard it would be to think of 25 facts about myself that wouldn't bore you all to tears! I love finding out more about you guys, so if you do this tag, link it below so I can check it out?

Have a wonderful day everyone,

Lea

Soul It Out Baby

Hey Darlings,

About time for a touch of soul round here don't you think?

This beauty comes from Soul 4 Real, and is called 'Every Little Thing I Do'. It was from their 1995 debut album Candy Rain and peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is guaranteed to get me moving, so I really do recommend you give it a listen!

I'm working on a short film as a favour to a couple of friends of mine at the moment. I'm filming from 6-10 tonight and I'm actually really looking forward to it! I went to a rehearsal last night (I joined the cast at super short notice!) and I really enjoyed it. I'm playing a character that's quite the opposite of me, so it's so much fun to be something completely different.

Hope you're all okay lovelies!

Where the hell have you been??

Hi Darlings, long time no speak.

I can't believe almost a month has passed since my last post. In blogging terms it feels like it was only a week ago or so, but in reality the past month has been the longest of my life. My days have been long and my nights have been incredibly short through lack of sleep, which leads to a day which seems to last for three.

The reason why I've been away, is because I have now entered a new phase in my life. It's not something that I take pleasure in writing, but I should let you know that over Christmas my relationship failed, and although Alex and I are still very close, we are no longer together. We have had a wonderful two years together and I don't regret a thing, she is and always will be one of my best friends.

With this in mind, it's probably not surprising to you that I disappeared for a little while. Hearts need time to mend and although mine is quite a way off, it's starting to piece itself back together slowly.

Other than that news, I don't really have much to report. I've been working incredibly hard for my degree in the past month, but my time has also been filled with the practicalities that arise when you live with someone you are no longer with. I've also been with my closest friend Luce almost constantly since the beginning of January, she has been my rock and I couldn't have got through this without her. It's times like this that people really come through for you, and I'm eternally grateful.

Normal blogging will resume as of now, although forgive me if there's the odd day when I'm not around. I'm just not quite out of the woods yet.

I hope you're all safe and warm and the snow is causing you nothing but laughter and happiness <3

A little update and giveaway winners

Hello my darlings,

I'm so sorry I've not been around so much since I came back from my holiday. A few days ago, I woke up and found that almost all of the remaining sight in my right eye has gone black. I now have a small amount at the top of my eye where I have light perception but that's it. I'm okay about it now, but for a few days I've just not felt like blogging, nor doing much else if the truth be told.
Alex has done plenty to cheer me up though, including Christmas shopping and a meal and drinks out last night, so I'm starting to feel much better about things now. I didn't have much sight in it anyway, so it's not so sudden, it just feels very final.

So! Now that I've explained myself a little, on to better and more interesting things! Who am I sending these Chocolate Oranges out to?!

 Lauren from Following the Foxes
Kayleigh from Kayleigh Jean
Becky from The Wonders of Wardrobes

There was a total of 20 valid entries, and they were of course selected with a random number generator.

I hope you've all had a wonderful lead up to Christmas so far!

Currently Wishing

Hello my darlings!

It's been a while hasn't it? I had a wonderful holiday, and I even managed to get a slight tan! (I don't tan very easily). Landing back in Manchester was certainly a shock to the system, it was -3 when we left the airport! I can't wait for Christmas now, it feels very surreal to think I was in 80 degree heat on a beach this time last week, and now I'm listening to Christmas songs while the weather is so horrible outside.
I hope you've all been keeping well while I've been away, and you're enjoying the Christmas Spirit!

-------------

Now that I'm back from the land of bright colours and summer clothes, I'm craving the dark and sophisticated shades of winter. I also can't wait to get something dark and vampy back on my nails; I absolutely love that look.

I have a sneaky new purchase to share with you tomorrow, so until then!

Little Update and Winter Wishlist!

Hi lovelies,

I'm so sorry I disappeared again for a while. After my last post, to top off my bad luck, my iMac broke and had to be sent off for repair (for the second time in 2 years!!) I guess when you've been out if the swing of blogging for a while you get out of the loop and it takes some time to get back into it properly.

In the time I've been gone I've changed my hair colour (to red) changed it back again (to blonde - what a farse that was!) had my last shift at YooMoo, developed a complete love affair with Chai Latte and have gone completely Autumn/Winter crazy.

I don't know about you, but I absolutely adore Autumn and Winter. I've sorted out my wardrobe and put my summer clothes away, and out have come the comfy, cosy jumpers and snoods. I find it so comforting watching a film on the sofa with a Chai Latte or a Hot Chocolate while it's pouring down outside. Alex has been looking up loads of crafty things to do for Halloween and Christmas and I'm so looking forward to it :)

Having said all that, here is my current wishlist. I love everything on here, and it's all pretty budget friendly! I'm loving H&M at the moment, they have some really great key pieces if you look carefully for them, and I'm in love with everything here <3
All of the pieces bar the nail varnish are from H&M and are priced as follows:

Jumper: £24.99 (here)
Black Jeans: £19.99 (here)
Boots: £29.99 (here)
Hair tie: £4.99 (here)
Snood: £7.99 (here)

The Nail Varnish is by Mavala and is available from The Beauty Bay for £3.50 - The shade is Monte Video.

I hope you've all been well while I've been away, let me know what's on your winter wishlist!

Hi everyone, long time no see!

I know, how bad have I been?
Unfortunately I have had one of the worst summers on record. I've had one bad thing after another, day in day out. I'm not going to go in to it, but I've just really needed some space and time to be around people I love, and the chance to get myself together.
Today marks the start of my third and final year at Uni and I've decided that therefore the summer of bad luck has finished and it's only upwards from here! It's one of my best friends 21st birthdays today so we're all going out for a meal to Sapporo Tappenyaki in Manchester this evening and then on a big gay pub crawl back in Leeds once we're done!

I have a few things to show you including a Lush haul so keep your eyes peeled :)

I really hope you've all had a great summer and I'm so happy to be back blogging and involved again, I'm super motivated and really excited to get things going!

See you all soon!
Love Lea
