Topshop 'Magical Lip Tint'

I'm not usually a girl who is suckered into things purely on how they look but once I had seen this there was no going back. It reminds me of the pink Jelly Shoes that I had when I was a little girl, and nothing bad can come from being reminded of the time when it was appropriate to wear bright pink sparkly shoes on an (almost) everyday basis, right?

The Magical Lip Tint is part of the Sisters of the New Moon collection by Topshop and is aptly named Crystal. The packaging claims that it will, 'react to your skin to create a unique shade', which isn't exactly an original concept (take for example Bourjois's Rose Exclusif lipgloss) but I am a huge fan of that product so it was certainly something that I was already on the bandwagon with.

The packaging is beautiful, I love the soft watercolour effect on the box, and the lipstick itself is also beautifully packaged. It's not heavy like an expensive lipstick would be, but then at £9 I wasn't expecting it to be.

Just how amazing is that in the bullet?! So pretty and girly!
Don't panic though if you're colour shy, it translates onto the lips to a soft pink and the glitter really is minimal. The colour payoff was decent on me, I haven't inserted a photo because it's subject to change on each person and I didn't want to give an untrue representation of the colour/payoff. I wouldn't say it's one for you if you're after a bright pop of colour though.
The finish is similar to a lip-balm, although possibly not quite as nourishing. I certainly don't find it drying in any way on me. I just popped a little bit of my Lush Lip Scrub on beforehand and I was good to go. It lasted a good couple of hours on me which I would expect from a product like this.

I think this would be amazing to throw in a bright summer clutch as a pick me up during a fun sunny day. Since it's not strongly pigmented I think it would be great for a subtle swipe of colour when you don't have a mirror handy. Overall I think it's a great little product that has arrived just in time for spring!

What do you think?

  2. I think it may have been the sparkles that induced me parting with £9 of my waning student loan ha! Thankyou, I'm glad you liked it :) x
